Leinster Prs & Team Events

The Leinster Team Event & Pairs are fast approaching and each year we try to send a few members
down to compete for the club.  We need to know if anyone is interested in attending, so can
you please let the me know asap, so we can try to sort out teams and pairs.
U9 - U15 Team Event In Tullamore Harriers on Monday 5th of June
Athletes can move up one age only but at least two team members must be the correct age.
(U15 can be all U14)
Events vary from 60m, 300m, Long Jump, Turbo Javelin, Shot Putt, High Jump, 600m  and Hurdles
U9-U11 Pairs Competition In Tullamore Harriers on Saturday 10th of June
(Same day as some of the U12&U13 Championships)
All athletes strictly confined to their own age group
Each athlete may compete in two events only, with the same or different partner per event
Top 3 qualify for National Finals

Meath Championship Relays Wednesday 17th May

Thank you to all the Children for attending last nights relay practice.  Please ensure that you arrive early to Claremont Stadium on Wednesday for warm up.  U9 Girls need to be at check in area by 6:35pm ready to run by 6:45pm.  All relays will be done on times, so the fastest three teams out of all heats in each age group will medal.  Looking forward to seeing you all on the night.

Duleek Community Games Monday May 15th

Duleek Community Games Athletic Finals will be held in the GAA pitch, Navan Road on Monday next, May 15th, at 6pm.
Events for tiny tots up to U-16.
Two children from each competition will qualify for the Meath County Finals in Cushinstown on Sunday June 11th commencing at 9.30am.
As Community Games are celebrating the 50th anniversary of their foundation there will be special celebrations in Cushinstown on that day.

The u9-11 Meath Track and field Championships takes place on Wednesday the 24th of May from 7pm in Claremont stadium Navan.  We would love to see as many of our little athletes taking part in this fun event, medals for the top 3 on the night in each event.

Cushinstown A.C. Summer Camp

Have Fun, Be Active, Try Athletics!

 

Back by popular demand the Cushinstown A.C. Summer Camp proudly support by Athletic Ireland. The camp will give children the chance to try a whole range of fun athletics activities such as: Sprinting • Javelin • Hurdles • Shot put • Long jump • Walks • Relays

 

The Camp is open to children aged 6 - 12 and is priced at €50 for one week with a €10 discount for a second child, camp begins on Monday the 24th July to Friday the 28th of July from 10am to 2pm.

 

As well as learning, new skills, making new friends whilst having lots of fun each child will go home with a t-shirt, spike bag, water bottle, medal and participation certificate.

Dear Members, there will be no training tonight to accommodate the running of the Community Games.  All members/non members who live in Conalvy, Ardcath, Curragha and Cushinstown area
are eligible to take part in this, start time 7pm.

You must be under the age category by 31st of July for example to compete in U10 category
you cannot turn 10 before the 31st of July 2017, if you do you will be in the next category up
which is U12.

Meath Championships 2017


Meath Track and Field Championships 2017 Information

 

Day 1 All hammer and weight for distance plus U18 and older discus in Fr Murphy AC Saturday 29th April.

Day 2 Hurdles in Claremont Stadium on Saturday 6th May. 

Day 3 all U 12-U18 track and field plus junior, senior and master javelin and shot in Claremont Stadium on Sunday 7th May.

Day 4 Junior, seniors & masters championship in conjunction with Cavan in The Peace Link, Clones, Monaghan on Sunday 14th May. 

Day 5 Relays in Claremont Stadium Wednesday 17th May.

Day 6 U9-U11 championship in Claremont Stadium Wednesday 24th May.

 

  • U9’s-U11’s can only compete 2 events on any one day. (There shall be only 2 trials in the U9, 10 & 11 long jumps.)
  • U12’s –U15’s can only compete in 3 events on any one day.
  • U16’s - U18’s can only compete in 4 events on any one day.
  • U17 and U18 athletes compete as U18’s except in the U17 Girl’s hammer.
  • U19 and U20 athletes compete as Juniors
  • Athletes are confined to events in their own age group, except for the relay where they may move up one age group.  Juvenile athletes may not move up an age group in order to compete in Under 9 competition
  • There will be no late entries accepted on the day of competition

 

  • Gate Admission €5 adults, juveniles free.
  • Venues: Day 1 Fr. Murphy AC, Frayne starting at 10.00am 29th April.

Days 2 Claremont Stadium 6th May at 11.30am, Day 3 Sunday 7th May at 9.00am field & 11.30am track, Day 4 Clones Sports Arena, Monaghan Sunday 14th May at ?am (tbc), Day 5 Relays 17th May at 6.45pm  & Day 6 Wednesday 24th May at 7.00pm in Claremont Stadium.

  • Health & Safety Rules require that only competing athletes and officials will be allowed inside the arena.  All athletes must leave the arena after their event.

 

 

Athletes must be technically competent in the event they are attempting.  In the interest of
the welfare and safety of the athletes, please do not enter them in events they are not familiar with.

5. Maximum two attempts at each height in high jump.
6. Club entry fee to League - €20.00
7. Junior, Senior & Masters Field events take place at end of night

Clubs must ensure that competitors are technically competent in field events for which they are entered, as lack of technique constitutes a danger to the competitor or others. Proper shoes must be worn for field and track events. The committee reserves the right to amend the list of events with out notice.
